Eventing is a three-phase equestrian competition – a horse triathlon. It has its roots as a comprehensive cavalry test requiring mastery of 3 disciplines of riding.  The competitor rides the same horse in all 3 disciplines at a competition.

Dressage is a test of harmony and obedience, ballet on horseback.

Cross country tests endurance and courage as horse and rider negotiate a 3-5 kilometers course of 30-40 big, solid fences at great speed.

Show Jumping, riding a one plus minute course of jumps in a ring, is a test of finesse and technical jumping skills.

Eventing is an extreme sport, requiring ultimate trust and partnership between horse and rider.
